(Des Moines) “Pumpkin,” a lovable bulldog from Oakland, Iowa, has won the prestigious title of “Most Beautiful Bulldog” at Drake University’s 45th Annual Beautiful Bulldog Contest. The event, part of the festivities during Drake Relays week, saw Pumpkin donning a royal red cape trimmed in a white edging with black polka dots and pearls. As the winner, Pumpkin traded her red cape for a blue one and a crown. Pumpkin’s owner, Shawna Anderson, expressed excitement about the opportunity to raise awareness about the breed and the importance of rescue. Other awards went to Louie for the Drake Spirit Award, Cassy for the Rescue Dog Recognition Award, and Winston for the Porterhouse People’s Choice Award.
