(Guthrie County) – At the Guthrie County Board of Supervisors meeting on Tuesday, the supervisors focused mainly on the Fiscal Year 2024-25 Guthrie County Budget. Dani Fink spoke to the supervisors to fill them in on where the money is being spent, what needed to be changed, and what the board needs to focus on for the next Fiscal Year budget. They looked at the local option sales tax and had to increase that number to meet the standards that focused on the current local economy.
Fink also talked about how the county will distribute the taxes that Guthrie County citizens are paying. She wanted to ensure the public that Guthrie County is only responsible for the tax rate that is for the county.
In other business, the supervisors also discussed the cover letter for the EMS request for proposal and the action they’ll take in creating the ballot language. The supervisors wanted to also set a date for the best time to release the EMS information for the citizens of Guthrie County to vote on, come election time. The board also spoke with Mary Meritt about a book titled, “The Doctrine of the Lesser Magistrates.”
