(Stennett) Fire Departments from Red Oak, Stanton, Elliott, and Griswold responded to a structure fire at 9:44 p.m. on Monday south of the Old Mill in Stennett. When firefighters arrived, the structure was completely engulfed in flames and had collapsed.
Red Oak Fire Chief John Bruce says firefighters deployed a defensive ground operation, limiting all the surrounding structures from damage, including the Old Mill. Fire ground operations terminated at midnight.
The Montgomery County EMA, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Montgomery County Communications, MidAmerican Energy, and a neighboring farmer and his tractor provided additional assistance at the scene.
There were no injuries.
The Fire scene remains under investigation. However, there is nothing suspicious at this time.
