(Des Moines) The price of regular unleaded gasoline rose six cents, averaging $3.33 across Iowa, and two cents higher than one year ago, according to AAA. The national average on Wednesday was $3.62, up seven cents from last week’s price.
The price of global crude oil fell this week on the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) by $.29 per barrel over last week. It is currently priced at $85.31. Brent crude oil fell by $.05 and is currently priced at $89.47. One year ago, WTI crude sold for $79.74, and Brent crude was at $87.32.
Retail diesel prices in Iowa rose 2 cents this week with a statewide average of $3.79. One year ago, diesel prices averaged $3.90 in Iowa. The current Iowa diesel price is 27 cents lower than the national average of $4.06.
Wholesale ethanol held steady and is currently priced at $2.16.
Natural gas prices rose four cents at the Henry Hub reporting site and are currently priced at $1.88.
