(Audubon) The Audubon County Courthouse Offices are settling into their new temporary locations during the courthouse HVACC construction project. The Auditor’s Office is in the old Memorial Building, and the Clerk of Court and County Attorney are at City Hall.
Audubon County Supervisors Chair Heath Hanson says there are two entrances to the Armory, where the offices of the Recorder, Treasurer, Assessor, and Veterans Administration are located. He says people can use the east entrance because the west entrance is locked.
The construction project is expected to take nearly eight months to complete. The Supervisors entered a General Fund Loan Agreement for the $2.8 million Courthouse HVAC project. This financial method involves borrowing money and paying down the debt out of the General Fund over ten years with a debt service levy. He says the payment would be around $200,000 per year, similar to budgeting a repair expense from the General Fund.
