(Exira) As part of his annual visit to all 99 counties, Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig made a visit to Danish Countryside Vines and Wines near Exira Friday afternoon.
Owner Loren Christensen gave Naig a tour of the vineyard, provided a wine tasting and explained the process on how they make around 20 different kinds of wine.
Naig said he loves to get out and see Iowa businesses, especially since they are working on launching their new Choose Iowa brand.
Choose Iowa was launched at the Iowa State Fair last year. Foods with the Choose Iowa logo are from Iowa and must meet or exceed minimum criteria to be considered Choose Iowa.
