(Stanford, CA) – At the Stanford Invitational on Friday, a nation-leading record was broken by an Iowa State Cyclone.
Cyclone Janette Schraft broke her own record, school record, and nation’s current season record in the steeplechase. The redshirt senior earned a 9:48.20 time in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, beating her previous record of 9:57.55. She was the first woman in Iowa State history to break the 10-minute mark last season and is now leading the nation with her new record-breaking mark.
Schraft will now look to continue to lead the nation and Iowa State with her time throughout the outdoor season which just opened up not even a few weeks ago.
Iowa State will return back to action on April 5th at the Miami Alumni Invitational.
