(Atlantic) At the March 6 Atlantic City Council Meeting, City Clerk Barb Barrick submitted her resignation to the Council. Barrick, who began her duties as city clerk, accepted a position similar to that of the City of Huxley. The move will bring her closer to her husband’s employment and family.
Barb attended her final City Council meeting on Wednesday, and Mayor Grace Garrett presented Barrick with a plaque in appreciation for her community service.
Barb began her duties as the Atlantic City Clerk on January 9, 2017. She currently serves on the Iowa League of Cities Board of Directors. Her last day with the City of Atlantic is March 22. She will begin her duties at Huxley on March 25.
Atlantic Mayor Grace Garrett presented Deputy City Clerk Rich Tupper as the acting City Clerk.
