(Des Moine) The National Weather Service says breezy southwest winds of 15 to 20 miles per hour gusting to 25 to 30 miles per hour will lead to a high fire danger today for western and central Iowa.
Forecasters say low humidity between 20 and 30 percent, along with dry vegetation, will fuel wildfires.
The National Weather Service discourages burning under any conditions from Midday through late this afternoon. Fires that ignite will spread rapidly.
