Iowa Senate Passes Immigration Bill

(Des Moines) A bill has passed the Iowa Senate that calls for police to arrest immigrants who are in the state illegally. It also allows judges to order them to be deported. The bill passed along party lines with support from Republicans, with Senator Jeff Reichman saying the Biden administration has allowed record numbers of people to enter the country illegally. The bill is similar to a Texas law the U.S. Supreme Court put on hold.
