(Linn County) Linn County Attorney Nick Maybanks is asking for a higher bond to be set for kidnapping suspect McKinley Louisma. He is charged with kidnapping and conspiracy to commit a forcible felony in the death of 20-year-old Melody Hoffman, whose body was discovered on February 18th near Amana Lily Lake. Louisma’s bond was set at 50 thousand dollars cash, and Maybanks wanted it increased to 500 thousand dollars. He cites a Cedar Rapids shooting in January in which Louisma is a suspect and says he has been charged with the assault of another person.
