(Cass Co) The Cass County Board of Supervisors this morning approved the hiring of Deputy Sheriff Sawyer Ocheltree. Ocheltree’s wage in accordance with the Union Contract is $34.08 per hour. Ocheltree will be introduced to the Board at a later date.
In other news, the board received a request from Craig Meyer of Lewis to refurbish the military benches at the Cass County Freedom Rock located in Lewis.
Meyer got a quote for four benches at $1,400, but since there are only three the cost would be less. Supervisor Mark O’Brien said he would like to look into what it would cost elsewhere as well. An action item will be placed on the next Supervisors meeting agenda.
The Supervisors approved the final voucher for a joint bridge project with Guthrie County on Boston Road and payroll changes for Secondary Roads employees Kyle Wilmeth and John Johnson following completion of probation.

The Supervisors approved the appointment of Heath Larsen as Cass Township Trustee.
