(Ames, IA) – Cyclone Head Coach Matt Campbell has publicly announced that Iowa State will be adding three transfers to the roster for the upcoming 2024-25 season. Iowa State adds Dylan Barrett (Wisconsin), Carter Davis (Florida Atlantic), and Jaylon Jackson (Eastern Michigan).
Dylan Barrett has not played since the 2022 season for the Badgers but played in 13 games for Wisconsin from 2020-23. In 2022, he was named as an Academic All-Big Ten honor while playing all three interior offensive lineman positions. Carter Davis was a former kicker at Florida Atlantic before then playing at New Mexico Military Institute. While at New Mexico, he went 23-23 on extra points and finished 2-4 for field goals for 47 yards. He also was the main kickoff man as he had a total of 116 with 64 touchbacks. Last but not least, Jaylor Jackson is an incoming running back from Eastern Michigan as he ran for 974 yards and four touchdowns. Jackson was also the primary kick returner as he also had two kickoff return touchdowns while at Eastern Michigan. In 2022 and 2023, he averaged 4.3 yards per carry and had 37 receptions for 361 yards.
They will be joining an Iowa State team that went 7-5 in the regular season, qualifying for the Liberty Bowl. While the Cyclones lost to Memphis in the Liberty Bowl 36-26, they had one of their most historic seasons and will return a young team that finished 6-3 in Big XII play. Iowa State ranked #49 in offensive passing yards behind Notre Dame and was #50 in total defense behind Pittsburgh.
Iowa State will look to next season as they’ll take on North Dakota at home on August 31st for their home opener.
