(Ames, IA) – Winning seems to be the Iowa State way, as the Cyclones marched over the Oklahoma State Cowboys 66-42. While the game was delayed over two hours due to travel issues, the teams played and the Cyclones came out on top.
Iowa State was led in the game by Tamin Lipsey with 17 points as he went 7-8 from the charity stripe and also earned a total of five steals. Both Milan Momvilovic and Hason Ward followed right behind Lipsey with 12 points each and combined for 11 rebounds. Tre King finished things out in double-digits with 11 points and seven rebounds while he shot 50% from the field. King is just one field goal away from a total of 500 in his career.
Oklahoma State was led in the game by Eric Dailey Jr. with 12 points as he went 4-7 from the hardwood and also pulled in four rebounds as the only double-digit scorer for the Cowboys. Behind him was Javon Small with eight points and four boards while Bryce Thompson followed behind with seven points on the night. Oklahoma State shot 31.9% from the field while going 29.2% from the perimeter.
While the Cyclones shot just 20% from the three-point line, they shot 46.6% at 27-58 on the night. Iowa State also led in points in the paint leading 42-16, points off turnovers 20-7, and in rebounds 35-32. This is Iowa State’s 11th straight home win and second straight win on the season. The Cyclones now sit at 13-3 and 2-1 in conference action.
On Tuesday, the Cyclones will be playing in just their third official road game of the season when they take on #18 BYU. The tipoff is set for 8:00 for the first game against BYU after they entered the Big XII.
