(Provo, UT) – The Iowa State Cyclones were able to hold on in Big XII action as they beat BYU 80-75. The Cyclones continue to sit undefeated in conference play this season while Bill Fennelly now has 600 wins at Iowa State.
Iowa State was led in the game by Addy Brown with 24 points and pulled in eight boards on the night as she tied her career high in points scored with 24. Arianna Jackson also put down her new career high in both threes with four and in points with 17 on the night while pulling in four rebounds. Freshman Audi Crooks marked her 13th straight 10+ point game as she had 13 points and nine rebounds, just short of a double-double. Emily Ryan also was able to put in 11 points while nine of her 11 points came in the fourth quarter. Hannah Belanger finished off the Cyclones in double-digits with 10 points on the night.
For the home team, BYU was led by Kailey Woolston who put down 18 points and went 7-11 on the night. Lauren Gustin put down a double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds. Amari Whiting and Rose Bubakar finished out in double-digit scoring with 12 and 11 points respectively.
Iowa State has also put down a three-pointer in 908 consecutive games which continues the NCAA record. The Cyclones continue to outrebound opponents as they outrebounded BYU 41-32 as they have outrebounded every team this year. Audi Crooks also has made 88 field goals which is the fifth most in freshman ISU history.
The Cyclones will return home as #25 West Virginia travels to Ames this Wednesday, January 10th at 6:30 p.m.
