
(Norman, OK) – The winning streak has been broken for Iowa State as the #11 Oklahoma Sooners broke the Cyclone’s six-game winning streak on Saturday evening as the Badgers won 71-63.
Iowa State was on the losing end throughout the majority of the game on Saturday as they continued to hold close in the game, but Oklahoma was persistent in holding the lead. Leading the Cyclones were Robert Jones, Milan Momcilovic, and Hason Ward as they all scored 12 points on the night. Jones and Ward both also led the team in rebounds with seven points each. Curtis Jones put down seven points on the night to help out the Cyclone score sheet.
Oklahoma was led by Javian McCollum who put down 15 points and also dished out five assists in the game for the Sooners. Milos Uzan also put in 12 points with five assists and four rebounds. Le’Tre Darthard also had 11 points and went 3-4 from the field in the game. Sam Godwin was the last player to put down double-digits in the game for Oklahoma as he knocked down 10 points on the night and pulled in six boards.
Tamin Lipsey’s points tonight marked the 447th in his career. He also needs just three more steals to mark #17 in Iowa State history.
Iowa State will jump back on the hardwood this Tuesday, January 9th when they take on the #3 Houston Cougars at home at 6:00 p.m.
