(Boone, IA) – There is still a continuing dispute between the Iowa High School Sports Network (IHSSN) and the Iowa High School Athletic Association (IHSAA). The IHSAA announced on Monday that they are litigating a media rights dispute with the IHSSN, which is the current holder of the rights to stream Iowa high school championship events.
The IHSAA states that they object to the IHSSN’s live-steaming charges as the network plans to continue with live-streaming charges for the Semifinal and Final games in the UNI-Dome. These charges were announced all the way back in the summer of 2023 and are currently being disputed in Polk County District Court.
While the IHSAA continues fighting for free public access to broadcasts and streaming of the championship games, they will be improving the game experience in person. They strive to provide fans and schools the experience that helps not only them in their attendance, but also to help student-athletes. The IHSAA says that attending championship games goes toward student-athlete programs and experiences.
