(Des Moines) Drought conditions improved in the eastern portion of Iowa, with little change in the southern part of the state, according to the latest U.S. Drought Monitor map released this week.
Jim Lee is a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Des Moines. He says there is a decent chance for some rain towards the middle of next week. Past that, Jim Lee does not see a clear signal of the development of a dry or wet pattern.
Temperatures will remain above average for the foreseeable future, with a high in the 70s today and again on Monday.
