(Griswold, IA) – The Tigers had everything going in their favor last Friday. Griswold earned their first win of the season over West Harrison 66-16 as Griswold was able to capture their first win since 2021. Head coach Seth Lembke was more than proud of his athletes as the weight has been lifted off their shoulders heading into the last week of the regular season.
Bode Wyman had a very successful night in the pocket as he threw for 123 yards and went 9-15 on the night with two touchdowns. Wyman also rushed for 86 yards to add to the board in the rushing game. He is getting in the rhythm of progression and has been becoming more integrated into the offense.
Griswold took what they learned on the practice field and put those moves to the game field last Friday night, and clearly, it worked in their favor.
Defensively, the Tigers held West Harrison to just 16 points and had a total of four sacks in the game. Cody Dorscher had a total of 5.5 tackles and RJ Dishong earned two sacks and two tackles to help on the defense. This Tigers defense came into the game with plenty of intensity and flowed to the ball consistently.
This week, Exira-EHK will be traveling to Griswold to take on the Tigers in their final homestand of the season. The Spartan offense has revolved around Jameson Kilworth who had two passing touchdowns and one rushing touchdown last week in their game against East Mills. Exira-EHK is a physical team that plays tough downfield, if Griswold sticks to their assignments, then success will be in their favor.
The Tigers will host Exira-EHK tomorrow with a kickoff at 7:00 p.m. Zach Collins and Austin West will be live at Griswold on KSOM 96.5 and video live-streaming on Western Iowa Today with a pregame show at 6:30 p.m.
