(Ames, IA) — A former Iowa Cyclones basketball player is the latest student-athlete to plead guilty in an illegal gambling probe. Jeremiah Williams pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of underage gambling after initially being cited for tampering with records. According to Story County court records he admitted to using a friend’s online account for placing bets. Williams has since transferred to Rutgers. 10 of 17 former Hawkeye and Cyclone student-athletes charged in the gambling probe have now pleaded guilty.
