(Audubon) Audubon County Board of Supervisor Chairman Doug Sorensen says cleaning up the dead ash trees along the T-Bone Trail will cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. This is an ongoing discussion by the board on the issue of cleaning up the 2,343 dead trees and how to pay for it.
Sorensen says one option would be to use money from the Urban Renewal Fund.
The plan is to remove the dead trees in four sections along Highway 71. The DOT has volunteered to provide the workforce for traffic control. The goal is to begin the tree removal project in December and November.
