(Council Bluffs) Two Cass County men were sentenced on Tuesday for conspiring to distribute fentanyl, causing serious bodily injury or death.
Twenty-five-year-old Colby Ray Clarken was sentenced to 240 months in prison, and 21-year-old Collin Jacob Clarken was sentenced to 252 months in prison.
Three other co-defendants, Cam Christopher Jahnke, Chase Daniel Jahnke, and Kelsi Thurman, were sentenced to prison for their roles in this conspiracy. Cam Jahnke was sentenced to 193 months ‘ imprisonment, Chase Jahnke was sentenced to 204 months in prison, and Kelsi Thurman was sentenced to 156 months in prison.
According to court records, Colby and Collin Clarken pleaded guilty to obtaining fentanyl pills from Omaha sources and selling them in Cass County, according to Court Records. In the investigation spanning between August 2019 and June 2022, the group distributed over 10,000 pills containing fentanyl, leading to two deaths caused by overdose.
The agencies involved in the investigation include the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement, Atlantic Police Department, Cass County Sheriff’s Office, Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, Southwest Iowa Narcotics Enforcement Task Force, Council Bluffs Police Department, Iowa DCI, Iowa State Patrol, Iowa DCI Crime Lab, United States Postal Service, and the Omaha Police Department.
