(Nassau, Bahamas) – As many teams are on a Foreign Tour this summer, Iowa State is doing the same as they are currently in the Bahamas. The Cyclones just recently beat Lucayans 119-48 as they went on a 15-0 run to start the game as they put it in fifth gear and never looked back.
Five players had double figures as Curtis Jones led the team with 32 points and was 8-12 from the three-point line. Behind Jones was Gilbert as he had 14 points as Tamin Lipsey had 11. Damarion Watson and Tre King both added 10 points to the board in the game. Milan Momcilovic and Omaha Biliew led in the rebounding game as Momcilovic had eight rebounds while Biliew snagged seven. Jackson Paveletzke added on seven assists as well for the Cyclones.
Iowa State went 58% from the field as they shot 48-83 in the game while going 46% from deep shooting 12-26. Coach T.J. Otzelberger said, “We have worked on the connectivity of our team. After going against each other in practice over that time, I was proud of the way our guys played in their first game against a different opponent.”
The Cyclone’s next opponent will be BC Zalgiris Kaunas today at 12 pm.
