(Atlantic) The Atlantic City Council on Wednesday approved a Memorandum of Understanding between the Iowa Department of Revenue and the City of Atlantic regarding the State Offset Program.

The Council also approved a resolution approving public purpose service by city expenditures for Economic Development and orders to approve economic development agreements with the Cass-Atlantic Development Corporation and the Atlantic Area Chamber of Commerce.
The Council approved a resolution adjusting season 2023 benefits for Sunnyside Pool employees. It was noted that the Council adopted a resolution earlier this summer for a series of benefits for Sunnyside Pool lifeguards, including a $1,000 sign-on bonus to be paid in two-phases. Due to an error in payroll, the City issued a $500 payment to one of the concession employees and it became widely known amongst the concession staff. Instead of trying to get this money returned, the Administration recommended that a partial bonus of $500 to applied to the remaining concession stand attendants.
And, the Council approved an order to close selected streets for AtlanticFest beginning at 5:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 12th.
