(Des Moines) There is a chance showers and thunderstorms across southwest Iowa tonight could influence some Independence Day celebrations. Brooke Hagenhoff with the National Weather Service in Des Moines forecasts the storms to roll into southwest Iowa before dark.
Hagenhoff says the storms will be strongest where they initially form and weaken as they move across the region.
Hagenhoff says people attending outdoor activities tonight should pay attention to the weather and have a game plan for developing strong storms, which could produce cloud-to-ground lightning.
