Atlantic’s group of Caden Andersen, Bennett Whetstone, Tanner O’Brien, and Alex Sonntag placed 10th in the 4X800. They were two tenths of a second away from a state medal.
Teaming up to place 5th for Atlantic in the 4X800 were Ava Rush, Aubrey Guyer, Mariah Huffman, and Claire Pellett. The group ran 9:47.47.
Atlantic’s Jayden Proehl cleared 6-03 to place 7th. The Trojans had Colton Rasmussen 8th at 6-01. Proehl missed his first two attempts at 6-03 before getting over the bar on his third try. Rasmussen cleared his first attempt at 6-01 before going to the compete in the shuttle hurdle.
Nodaway Valley’s Emma Lundy is in the finals of the 200 in Class 1A. She ran the 3rd fastest time in the prelims at 25.90
Junior Cash Emgarten (Exira-EHK) will be in the finals of the 200 meter dash. He placed 10th in the 100. Emgarten talked with KSOM/KS95.7 Sports after the 200 prelims.
Audubon’s Madi Steckler broke a long standing school record in the 200 en route to the finals. She was also a member of Audubon’s 11th place shuttle hurdle. 26.91 was her clocking in the 200.
Veronica Andrusyshyn, of Riverside, made the finals in the 100. She ran 13.10. Last year she was 5th in that race at state.
ACGC’s Austin Kunkle ripped off a 21.90 in the prelims of the 200. Lisbon’s top sprinter was DQ’d. Kunkle will take the fastest qualifying mark into the 200 finals. He also made the 100 meter dash with a prelim time of 11.08.
