(Sioux City) The Atlantic girls golf team shot 395 to finished 2nd at the SC East Invite on Wednesday. Sergeant Bluff-Luton won the tournament with a total of 384.
Leading Atlantic was Lexi Noelck and Emma Rose with rounds of 98. Noelck placed 7th and Rose was 8th. Abby Smith shot 99 and placed 10th. Makenna Schroeder contributed a 100 and McKenna Sonntag carded 102.
Coach Kathy Hobson says it was a, “Fun day on a challenging course. The girls handled an unfamiliar course well. Makenna Schroeder left a birdie putt on the lip on a tough, uphill, par 3. She also laced a shot out of the brome onto the green from about 65 yards out. Lexi Noelck had 6 pars. Abby Smith 2 pars. McKenna Sonntag 2 pars. Makenna Schroeder 2 pars. Emma Rose 1 birdie, 1 par. Everybody contributed to a successful day.”
