(Red Oak) The Atlantic Boys Track Team scored 193 points and won the team title at the Red Oak Tiger Relays on Friday night.
The Trojans won eight events and finished second in seven others. Alex Sonntag won the 1600 Meters in 5:10.18, and Christian Thompson earned gold in the 3200 in 11.25. Jackson McLaren and Colton Rasmussen finished one-two in the 110 Meter Hurdles, in 15.84, and 16.79, and Jayden Cox toured the oval in the 400 Meter Hurdles in 1:02.37 for the win. The Trojans won the 4×800 Meter Relay with Preston Williams, Sawyer Tarrell, Colin Rudy, and Logan Tarrell, in 11:06.81. Bennett Whetstone, Caden Andersen, Alex Sonntag, and Carter Pellett claimed first in the 4×400 Meter Relay in 3:41.55, and the Shuttle Hurdle Relay team of Jackson McLaren, Colton Rasmussen, Alex Keiser, and Easton O’Brien outdistanced the field in 1:04.54. Jayden Proehl and Colton Rasmussen finished one-two in the High Jump clearing 6-00.00, and 5-10.00 respectively.
Carter Pellett clocked a 22.75 and finished second in the 200 Meters. Jayden Proehl ran second in the 400 Hurdles in 1:02.67. Xavier Darrow tossed the Shot Put 42-10.00, earning a second-place finish, and the 4×100 Meter Relay Team of Xavier Darrow, Jackson McLaren, Tye Houser, and Jaice Larson earned silver in 46.64. The Trojans also finished runner-up in the Distance Medley at 4:00.96 with Jaice Larson, Tye Houser, Carter Pellett, and Tanner O’Brien on the carry.
Red Oak dominated the sprints, Brayden Sifford won the 100 meters in 11.43, and Jack Kling championed the 200 and 400 meters in 22.74, and 54.02. Red Oak won the 800 Sprint Medley, 1:38.30, and captured the title in the 4×200 Meter Relay in 1:36.96.
Carter Kunze of Tri-Center topped the field in the 800 Meters in 2:11.59 and won the Long Jump with a 19-07.75 effort.
Reagan Skarnulis, of Glenwood, tossed the Shot Put 48-00 for the win, and Logyn Eckheart of Glenwood won the Discus with a heave of 132-00. Glenwood won the 4×100 Meter Relay in 46.52, and Tri-Center earned gold in the Distance Medley, 3:56.56.
