(Undated) A new report says one-fifth of the nation’s nurses are planning to quit, thanks to COVID burnout. A study by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing found that 100-thousand nurses left the profession during the COVID-19 pandemic. It’s not a money issue. They say it’s more like a crisis of compassion. Nursing experts say there needs to be a fundamental change in healthcare so that nurses aren’t bogged down with patients who could be helped by telemedicine.
