(Griswold) Griswold Shared Superintendent Dave Henrichs updated the School Board this past week on the research and questions and considerations he has the possibility of converting to a four-day school week.
Schools Superintendent Dave Henrichs says the Board’s goal for reducing the number of class days from five to four is to attract and maintain staff members.
Henrichs says he learned there is inclusive evidence regarding its impact on “hardcore” facts.
Henrichs also contacted other Iowa and Missouri schools using the four-day week. He discovered that these schools find, attract, and retain staff more efficiently. Mr. Henrichs says the district continues exploring this possible change; the principals are working on tentative scheduling and contractual scenarios with staff.
If approved, the new schedule would not go into effect at the start of the 2024-2025 school year.
