(Atlantic) The Atlantic Park Board on Monday approved the 2023 Season Pool Membership Fees.
Parks and Recreation Director Wyatt Adderton said the daily rate will remain the same at $5. However, the family season pass will go up ten dollars to $130 and the single-person season pass will go up ten dollars to $90. A question was posed by Board member Shirley Jensen on whether there would be a fund available for kids who cannot afford those passes. Board member Jeremy Butler….
In the past, other individuals have also donated funds to help out with those passes.
In other action, the Board gave Wyatt Adderton approval to move forward with painting the Sunnyside Pool buildings. Adderton said there is an area of opportunity to make the bathhouse a gem again like it probably was in its heyday.
Adderton would also like to spruce up the pumphouse at the corner of 10th and Sunnyside Lane. He said they are currently getting some bids from artists to possibly put a mural on the building.
The Board approved allowing Adderton move forward with paining the Sunnyside Pool buildings. They also approved moving forward with the purchase of a new waterslide at Sunnyside Pool. Both are contingent on staying within the City Administrator’s determined budget. The Board then approved allowing Adderton to purchase Pool-Pass software to help the department handle membership registration, pool entry, point of sale and resale inventory.
The Park Board also approved granting James McEntaffer permission to install mile markers around the walking path at Schildberg Recreation area as part of an Eagle Scout project. They approved grating Frank Saddlemire permission top plant trees in Sunnyside Park. And, they approved allowing memorial benches be installed at the Schildberg Recreation Area.
