(State) The Iowa Print Sports Writers Association came out with their All-State teams for girls basketball on Tuesday morning.
Area honorees in Class 1A include 1st team selection Quinn Grubbs (Exira-EHK) along with 3rd teamers Brynnly German (Martensdale-St. Marys) and Sadie Cox (Lenox).
Nodaway Valley has two all-state selections in Class 2A with Lindsey Davis on the 1st team and Izzy Eisbach on the 3rd team. Also in 2A, Treynor’s Clara Tiegland made the 1st team and Panorama’s Jaidyn Sellers is on the 3rd team.
The Class 3A 2nd team includes both Aubrey Schwieso (Harlan) and Paytn Harter (Atlantic).
Glenwood’s Jenna Hopp made the Class 4A 1st team. On the 2nd team in Class 4A is Jena Young, of Winterset. Creston’s Doryn Paup and Lewis Central’s Lucy Scott earned 3rd team honors.
Bishop Garrigan senior Audi Crooks is the Miss Basketball award winner. She scored 2,734 career points which is 3rd all time behind Elle Ruffridge (Pocahontas Area) and Deb Remmerde (Rock Valley). She’s also 3rd on the career rebounding list with 1,339. She set a single season record this year with 889 points. The 6’3″ Iowa State commit also broke state tournament records for points in a single game (49), points in a tournament (117), rebounds in a tournament (45) and rebounds in a career (160). Her teams finished with a record of 101-8. Crooks made the Class 1A All-Tournament team four time including being the captain in 2020 and 2023.
