Child shot Sunday on Des Moines’ south side

(Des Moines, IA)  —  Police in Des Moines continue their investigation after a shooting on the south side left a 12-year-old child injured.   It happened in the 15-hundred block of Evergreen Avenue Sunday afternoon.  Injures to the victim initially appeared to be non-life threatening.  Police say it may be a case of self-defense.
