(Corning) Corning school district patrons are voting on a $19.2 million bond referendum today. Schools Superintendent Chris Fenster says the focus is on the elementary building.
Schools Superintendent Chris Fenster says the district wants to renovate the elementary school and the baseball and softball fields to add square footage to the elementary school. If passed, this would enable them to move the Early Childhood Education Center to the elementary school, expand programs, and upgrade all HVAC.
Fenster is optimistic that school district patrons will come out and support the referendum.
The project includes an area for K-5 classrooms on the East Pod, a new gymnasium, and a safe room. Additionally, the plan consists of renovating the west pod of the central building, moving the early childhood center, upgrading the baseball and softball fields, and replacing the wooden playground equipment with an ADA-compliant facility.
