(Des Moines) A Winter Storm Warning continues today for the southwest Iowa counties south of Interstate 80 until 6:00 p.m. this evening. Northeast winds will create blowing and drifting in rural areas, along with heavy snow at times, which may cause whiteout conditions. Very cold wind chills are expected tonight through Friday morning, mainly in the single digits above and below zero.
The snowfall is expected to end in extreme southwest Iowa, including Fremont, Mills, Montgomery, northwest Page, the western half of Cass County, and Audubon County from noon to 2:00 p.m. The snow will move out from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m in the southeast portion of Cass, Adams, Union, Adair, and Guthrie Counties.
The snow will move out of Shelby County from 10:00 a.m. to noon.
