(Atlantic) Cass County Conservation Director Micah Lee told the Board of Supervisors this morning that he received a fish habitat grant for the Nodaway Wildlife Area.
Lee said this next year they will be doing work along the dam.
Lee said the dam is starting to show some signs of erosion. He said another benefit is this will add fish habitat.
Lee also noted that they had their field day and removed the invasive honeysuckle at Pellett Memorial Woods. He said he had a phone call with a state forester Monday and she believes there is some grant money available through the state where they will come out and help with anything invasive.
In other news, the Supervisors approved the appointment of Atlantic Mayor Grace Garrett to the Southwest Iowa Planning Council and John Lund as alternate. And, they approved the appointment of Chelsea McCunn to the County Zoning Board of Adjustment.
