(Anita) The CAM wrestling team will be in action Tuesday with a quadrangular against Logan-Magnolia, Woodbine, and Westwood. Head coach Derek Knisely says the expectation is to “Keep on the streak of improvement that they’ve been going and make people wonder where did CAM come from.”
CAM placed 6th at the Coon Rapids-Bayard Tournament on Saturday. It was a day headlined by individual championships from Owen Hoover and Brian South. South picked up his 100th career win. “He’s been a true leader in and out of the wrestling room. He is my go to if I need something done for the team. I just ask and he get’s it done.”
The young group has shown consistent development. “We have massive improvements from before Christmas and coming out of Christmas all around. The boys have been working hard and learning new things and it’s paying off.”
The Cougars are led in wins by Owen Hoover at 21-6 while Brian South is 19-4. Kegan Croghan has a 16-10 mark on the season. CAM is scheduled to compete in the Griswold Tournament this weekend.
