(Atlantic) Atlantic rolled out a big lead in the second quarter and never looked back in a 67-32 win over Shenandoah on Tuesday night at Atlantic.
Shenandoah enjoyed the lead once in the game when Seth Zwickle splashed down a three-point basket to put his squad up 3-2, but after that, it was all Atlantic.
The Trojans built an 18-10 first-quarter advantage and exploded in the second frame outscoring Shenandoah 24-6. Colton Rasmussen had a big night for the home team. The junior scored 28 points, including two dunks in the contest. The junior forward scored 19 of his 28 points in the first half.
Atlantic’s offense quieted down in the third quarter with only 8 points but gained back the rhythm in the final stanza outscoring the Mustangs 17-3 for a 67-32 final.
Once again, the Trojans welcomed solid play from the bench. Caden Andersen scored 8, and Nolan Waters found the middle of the cylinder with two long-range bombs to finish with six points. Jackson McLaren scored 6 points, Gavin McLaren, 5, Jayden Proehl, 5, Kinnick Juhl, 4, Michael Hotze, 4, and James McLaren knocked down a free throw.
Seth Zwickle led the Mustangs with 11 points, Jade Spangler 9, Gage Herron 3, Camden Lorimor 2, Dalton Athen 2, Brody Burdorf 2, and Rafe Rodewald 2.
Atlantic heads into the holiday break with a 3-5 record. Shenandoah is 1-8.
