(Elk Horn) Exira-EHK improved to 6-1 in girls basketball with Tuesday’s home win against Boyer Valley. The Spartans started the game on a 10-0 run, led by 30 at halftime, and came out on top 71-31.
Freshman Jaelynn Petersen scored 21 points. Quinn Grubbs notched 11. Scoring 10 apiece were Shay Burmeister, Brylie Andersen, and Harlee Fahn. All eight players on the roster scored at least two points for Exira-EHK. They closed the 1st quarter on a 12-2 stretch to grab a commanding 25-6 lead. They put 41 points on the board by halftime. 13 of Boyer Valley’s 31 points came in the 4th quarter. Jessica O’Day led the 1-7 Bulldogs with 8 points.
Next up for Boyer Valley is Coon Rapids-Bayard on January 3rd. The Spartans have a big game looming after break against Woodbine.
