(Oakland) Boys wrestlers from 20 schools competed Saturday at Riverside’s Tournament. Creston score 227 points for the win. The Panthers seven finalists and two champions. Christian Ahrens (120) and Brandon Briley (138) each topped the podium for Creston. Woodbury Central scored 144 points to finish 2nd while Logan-Magnolia took 3rd with a score of 142.
Closer to home it was Harlan 4th, ACGC 7th, AHSTW 10th, Riverside 13th, CAM 14th, and Audubon 16th.
Harlan had one champion with Zane Bendorf winning at 195. Placing 3rd for the Cyclones were Matt Schwery (220), Spencer Fink (113), and Jesse Jens (106). Bret Van Baale was 4th at 182.
Tegan Slaybaugh had a runner up finish at 120 to lead ACGC. Gavin Sloss at 126 and Payton Jacobe at 285 each placed 3rd for the Chargers.
AHSTW’s Henry Lund was a champion at 220. The Vikings had Braden Fineran place 4th at 132. Placing 6th were Dayden Moertl (152), Logan Heller (182), Nate Jorgensen (195), and Sawyer Kiesel (285).
DJ Bramman won the 106 pound weight class for Riverside. Kellen Oliver (126) came in 5th and Jack Branan (132) was 7th.
Brian South (170) and Owen Hoover (182) each placed 5th to lead CAM. 132-pounder Kegan Croghan earned 6th.
Audubon had 5th place finishes from Lane Elmquist (106), Jack Stanerson (120), and Alex Hansen (145).
