(Atlantic) The Cass County Board of Supervisors held a special meeting this morning to interview two candidates for real estate services related to the sale of the county-owned farm.
The Board’s top two candidates were Property Connections Real Estate and Farmers National. Board Chairman Steve Baier said after meeting with the two companies, they chose Property Connections Real Estate to put on the sale.
The county-owned farm includes the old Willow Heights building, approximately 115 acres of row crop ground and approximately 35 acres of pasture ground.
Steve Baier said he doesn’t think they will have any issues with the sale of the farmland, but the sale of the residential facility may be different. He said there will be a reserve price on the building and if that’s not met, they will find another way to sell the facility.
The auction is expected to take place in mid-January.
