Debbie Archibald, 67, of Atlantic, Iowa, died Sunday, October 23, 2022, at her home.
Deborah “Debbie” June (King) Archibald, was born on November 22, 1954, to William and Inez (Prince) King in Cleveland, Ohio. Debbie had a big family of four sisters and two brothers. One night, her friend Connie brought Debbie to a social gathering where she met Mr. Kenneth “Kent” Archibald. Shortly after that evening, in 1973, Debbie and Kent were married and had three children; Todd, Melissa, and Kyle. Debbie at first couldn’t cook well. But with Kent’s help, Debbie learned to cook many meals. She loved cooking meals for the family. She made her kids and grandkids birthday parties, holiday meals, and weekly Sunday gatherings a priority in her life.
On occasion, Debbie was able to return to Ohio to visit her Mom, Dad, and siblings. She also thoroughly enjoyed working and serving others at The Fish Store with family friend Rick Johnson. Debbie had a special place in her heart for senior citizens when working as a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) in various capacities throughout the Atlantic area. She will always be remembered as a thoughtful, patient, and caring person. Debbie would often say her greatest accomplishment was working as a CMA and raising her kids to be responsible adults.
Debbie is survived by her son, Todd (Kelli) Archibald and their children, Timothy, Allison, Nicholas, and Jared; daughter, Melissa (Mark) Carey and their children, Rayne (Blake) Thomas, Kolton, Dawson and Madison; son, Kyle Archibald and his son, Jaxtin; brothers, Timothy (Debbie) King, Kenny (Beth) King; sisters, Julie (Joe) Elias, Shirley (Dan) Chambers, and Brenda Della Flora; great-grandchildren, Piper Thomas, Saylor Thomas, Archie Thomas and Baby Thomas; brothers and sisters-in-law, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
