(Oakland) It’s the Regional Semifinals on Monday night for Class 1A Volleyball. KSOM will air Riverside’s match at #13 Stanton.
Riverside coach Brooke Flathers comments on Stanton. “We definitely respect them. They are going to come out ready to play and we just have to be ready to play our game.”
The Lady Dawgs feel well prepared through their play in the Western Iowa Conference. “I would say so. Being in the WIC we play a pretty tough conference schedule. I think we’ve played some really high level teams. I think we are ready to play our best volleyball this week and accomplish some of our goals.”
She describes Stanton as a well-rounded team. “We just need to be ready to play our game and do what we know how to do.”
Riverside is 31-5 while Stanton has a win-loss mark of 30-8. Ayla Richardson leads Riverside in assists with 655 and aces with 63. Veronica Andrusyshyn has recorded 295 kills, 192 digs, and 53 aces. Madison Baldwin has a team high 312 digs. The winner advances to the Class 1A, Region 1 final against either #3 (21-7) Gehlen Catholic or (20-6) St. Mary’s, Remsen.
