(Creston) A Boone man suffered severe injuries in a two-vehicle accident in Union County Thursday evening.
The Union County Sheriff’s Office says 32-year-old Corey Mitchell, of Boone, was driving a 1996 Honda Civic southbound on Cherry Street and crossed over the center line, entered into northbound traffic and collided with a northbound 2018 Chevy Silverado, driven by 77-year-old Gerald Holaday of Greenfield. Both vehicles were pushed off the roadway from the collision.
Holaday was able to exit the vehicle and call 911. Mitchell was trapped inside of his vehicle and unable to exit.
Holaday complained of possible injuries, but stated he was oak. Mitchell suffered severe injuries and was life-flighted from the scene to Mercy Medical Center.
Both vehicles suffered totaling damage.
