Atlantic XC qualifies four runners for state

(Glenwood) Three runners from the Atlantic girls cross country team and one runner from the boys squad will compete at the state meet in Fort Dodge next week.

Advancing from the Glenwood State Qualifying Meet are Ava Rush, Claire Pellett, Belle Berg, and Devon Fields. Rush placed 3rd, Pellett 6th, and Berg 12th. Devon Fields was 14th.

Glenwood, Lewis Central, and ADM were the boys team qualifiers. Advancing as a team on the girls side were ADM, Glenwood, and Harlan. Atlantic was in fourth place, just four points behind Harlan.

The individual boys champion in a time of 15:36 was Lewis Central’s Ethan Eichhorn. Glenwood’s Bryant Keller ran 2nd in 15:39. Glenwood put seven runners in the top fifteen.

Geneva Timmerman, of ADM, won the girls race in 17:59, followed by Harlan’s Lindsey Sonderman in 18:56.
