(Pottawattamie Co) The Pottawattamie County Board of Supervisors heard from the City of Macedonia on Tuesday about their projects and needs.
Supervisors Chairman Tim Wichman said the Supervisors have decided to put 1.5 million in ARPA dollars toward the small towns in the County. He said once they are finished meeting with all of the small towns the board will decide what projects they think they can fund. The funds will need to be expended by 2026.
Melia Clark, Mayor of Macedonia, said their town has a lot of exciting things happening. She said they have some new homes being built and there are plans for a new housing development. An empty home was renovated and turned into a Bed and Breakfast, they completed a façade project downtown, and they just finished tuckpointing City Hall.
As far as short term projects the City could use some funding for, Clark said they would like to expand their City Park with some additional playground equipment and put in a basketball court.
Another thing Clark would like to see is a trail going from the Campground to the City of Macedonia.
The Supervisors asked Clark to put together a list of projects, what they cost and what the top priorities are.
