(Pottawattamie Co) The Pottawattamie County Board of Supervisors are speaking with all of the small towns in the County to look at their needs and see how the County can help them out.
On Tuesday, the Supervisors heard from Carson City Clerk and Administrator Brianne Duede. Duede highlighted three projects the City currently has going on this fiscal year. One is the capital equipment purchase of a new ambulance.
Duede said the Fire Department took bids earlier this year and they authorized a bid for a little over $281,000. The City Council has authorized use of their local ARPA funds in the amount of $120,000 toward the purchase, leaving a remaining balance of a little over $161,000. They expect delivery of the ambulance sometime in June or July.
Duede said they are also still working on their downtown revitalization efforts.
Duede also noted that Carson has a 13-acre commercial park development on the south side of Highway 92 with some new businesses going in and so the City is assisting that project with water main and sewer service extensions.
Supervisors Chairman Tim Wichman said as soon as they speak with all of the small towns in Pottawattamie County they will sit down and take a look at all of the projects and put something together to help the towns out.
Supervisor Justin Schultz said ARPA funding is not the end of all funding. He said these small towns have a lot of good projects and if it doesn’t make the ARPA pot of money, they may look at other sources to help out.
