McCreedy says a statewide Speed Initiative Project goes into effect from September 27 to October 4 due to a fatal crash that occurred on July 1 in Dubuque. McCreedy says three teens from eastern Iowa were killed in a traffic accident due to excessive speed.
McCreedy says as a result of this tragedy; the Iowa State Patrol wants to bring awareness that excessive speed is hazardous; the Iowa State Patrol is being proactive in speed enforcement, and a press conference in Dubuque is scheduled for Tuesday, September 27, highlighting the ISP’s efforts to combat excessive speed.
The project collaborates with the Iowa State Patrol, Governors Traffic Safety Bureau, Fatalities Reduction Task Force, and the media.
