(Updated) According to the latest USDA NASS weekly crop progress report, the nation’s corn and soybean crops declined one percent from last week. Fifty-two percent of the corn crop is in good-to-excellent condition, and 55 percent of the nation’s soybean crop is rated good-to-excellent.
Soybean harvest is running behind last year, and the five-year average with only three percent harvested as of September 18th. The harvest is two-percent behind the previous year and down two percent from the five-year average of five percent.
As of September 18, percent of the nation’s corn crop is harvested, up two percent from the previous week, but one percent behind last year and one percentage point behind the five-year average.
