(Atlantic) The 6th Annual “Heads up Drag Racing” event raising money for the Shrines Children’s Hospital and the Shrine Children’s Hospital Transportation Unit is from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 18.
Jamie Joyce, an event representative, says spectator parking is at the Mahle Parking Lot. Southwest Iowa Transit will bus people from there to the ticket gate. Admission is $5.00.
The event also includes a couple of highlights this year. Joyce says a Black Hawk Military Helicopter will fly in and put on a show at noon.
Joyce says another highlight is a top alcohol Rail car.
Joyce says spectators are allowed to bring lawn chairs and a canopy tent. For those attendees needing assistance, the racing staff will haul them out to the track. Joyce says the event is alcohol-free, and the FAA is not allowing spectators to bring ATVs or golf carts.
